A gay man was arrested by the police on Monday, February 8, for continously sending love messages to a Kenyan journalist with the Royal Media Services, Victor Kinuthia, telling him that he is in love with his voice.
24-year-old Geoffrey Mburu had been sending romantic messages to the journalist, suggesting that he wants to have sex with him. Following persistent explicit messaging from Mr. Mburu, despite being warned to stop, Kinuthia reported the matter to the police.
In the messages, the suspect admitted to being gay and said he is in love with the journalist’s voice and wanted sex with him. Kinuthia set up a meeting with the suspect at his Gatanga home and was accompanied by officers and journalists.
"When I got to Githioro, the suspect came smiling and entered the car I was driving, saying he was to see me," he said.
It was then that police, who were following closely behind on motorbikes, arrested him. Kinuthia said he was shocked by the proof that homosexuality is rife in the county.
"We have always heard of cases where men are sodomised but fail to report out of fear or stigma but this is evidence that it is happening," he said.
Murang’a county commander Naomi Ichami said Mburu admitted to sending the messages. He will be charged with misusing a communications device.

She met her ex husband after she won Miss Unijos in her first year in school. This marriage barely lasted for 7 years due to deceitful/fraudulent, woman beater life of Godwin Ekenulo that goes about telling people he is from a wealthy home- that his father owns majority of shops in Alaba but cannot pay his immediate bills even up till date. Their last child (deceased) should be over 14years if alive - However Ukachi joined active politics less than 10years ago, so do your calculation that their 2 last kids died of HIV as a result of meeting a politician who infected her. When did Ukachi meet this Hope that infected her, was it in Jos or Lagos where they had their four kids (one of the child in question died in Jos when she was in school).
As the marriage could no longer hold, Ukachi returned back to Amaechi compound where she joined politics in 2007, contested and won election for Imo House of Assembly as Ukachi AMAECHI representing Owerri West LGA. Any Igbo person will know that Ukachi will never be allowed to contest for election in Owerri West if she is married to a man from Amaigbo another LGA that those not even have boundaries with Owerri West LGA, as she will be asked to go to the husband's place to represent them rather than her father’s home.
Ukachi got divorced from a court of competent jurisdiction over 9years and moved on with her life.
This same Godwin Ekenulo was allowed to live in Amaechi's compound in a bid to see if their marriage can be mended as we do not believe in divorce but his nuisance value - beating Ukachi before the parents and the Amaechis was barred from entering the family hence his resolve to stock and embarrass Ukachi before her colleagues in the Imo House of Assembly between 2007-2011 up until the divorce was formalized.
This Godwin i understand is married with a child so why this blasphemy, Ukachi should not be used to score politically point against his opponent if there is any. Ukachi came, lived and should be allowed to REST IN PEACE to face any consequence with her maker.
Please I will request that Ukachi Amaechi should be allowed to Rest In Peace. However let me clear the issues raised by the so called ex husband - Godwin.
Ukachi went to one of the best primary school in Kano - St Louis as at the time, FGGC Owerri/Egbu Girls then proceeded to Unijos.This cannot be of a child from a poor home. For avoidance of doubt, Ukachi’s dad, Godwin Amaechi is a chartered accountant who retired as GM, Finance Northern Breweries and the Traditional Prime Minister of Obinze Autonomous community. In addition John Amaechi - the father of ex NBA player John Amaechi was a Governorship aspirant under SDP in Imo State, so politics is common with the Amaechis and poverty does not have a place in us.

Official statement from 2face manager to blackface...
When my attention was drawn to Blackface's twitter rant about the "theft" of his songs by his ex-band mate 2Baba, my initial reaction was to ignore what I perceived as an obvious marketing gimmick for his new single. The reaction from a vast majority of people on social media who read about the allegations was evidence that the ploy had backfired.
Blackface's press interviews since the twitter rant has made it necessary for me to present the flip side and set the records straight.
1. 2Baba and Blackface do have a bunch of songs they co-wrote in their days as Plantashun Boiz.
2. Both artistes have collectively and individually recorded and commercially released materials from this collection.
3. 2Baba has always given Blackface (Austin Ahmedu) co-writing credit every time he recorded any song that has Blackface's input - No matter how minimal.
4. Blackface has neither given 2Baba (Innocent Idibia) co-writing credit nor sought "permission" to record any of the materials they jointly authored.
5. Blackface has earned royalties off his shared publishing rights for about a decade.
6. A huge chunk of income he has made derives from royalties earned by the commercial exploitation of the successesful materials performed/recorded by 2Baba.
7. 2Baba did not and couldn't have stolen "Let Somebody Love You" from Blackface. The song was released about 2 years ago. Blackface complained about his name being misspelt on the CD sleeve and we personally apologised to him.
8. Yes. Blackface contributed to the writing of the first verse of the song. The second verse was entirely 2Baba. Bridget Kelly wrote her verse and Efe Omorogbe wrote the outro verse.
9. Efe Omorogbe is not 2Baba's manager on "Let Somebody Love You" but a co-writer.
10. The outro verse was lifted from the song "How?" written in 1997 and recorded in 1999 at Dolphin studios, Surulere. Blackface didn't write that bit. Couldn't have written that bit. Blackface cannot in 2016, touch Efe Omorogbe's writing from 1997.
11. Blackface should be honoured to have shared co-writing credit with 2Baba. I am. For each and every song we have collaborated on.
12. Blackface should be grateful 2Baba recorded their co-authored materials to ensure a lifetime of royalty income for him.
12. Blackface should record and release his own version of "Let Somebody Love You" and keep 100% publishing on that version. Oops! 2Baba will still be entitled to a share.
13. Blackface is not in 2Baba's league as a songwriter. Their post-Plantashun Boiz' catalogs speak for themselves.
14. Blackface should go to court to seek redress if he indeed believes he has a case.
15. Blackface should know that nobody ever secured a court judgement via a twitter rant or media tour.
17. Blackface must have realised by now that the unfortunate tirade has not made "Killa" a hit. At least, not at the moment.
We grind our way to the results we seek bro. Just HARDwork. No short cuts!
